Origin of Kenya AA Kirinyaga
Grown slowly in the Kenyan mountainside farms, known as “fincas”, the Kenya AA Kirinyaga grows at 5,500 to 6,600 feet above sea level. The higher altitude allows the coffee beans to grow slowly providing more time to develop their flavors and absorb nutrients.
The Kirinyaga region in Central Kenya is a top-grade coffee-growing area. The optimal environment around the snow-capped Mt. Kenya and the foothills of Aberdare Range, contribute to the richness of flavor and density of essential and aromatic oils of this coffee.
What Makes Our Kenyan Coffee Unique
Coffee beans are rated based on origin, size, density, shape, color, and concentration of aromatic and essential oils. The AA grade is given to the largest beans as a reference to their higher quality. Kenya AA Kirinyaga is made from the largest coffee beans harvested from Kirinyaga. The large size indicates a greater density of nutrition, essential oils, and flavor.
